Together with FC Porto, we built a fully digital ticketing platform to transform how the club connects with its fans.

The solution.

Before the platform, FC Porto’s ticketing operation was fragmented and difficult to control. Fans navigated multiple disconnected systems, and a significant share of transactions happened outside official channels, through informal resale markets the club had no visibility over. Error rates were high, data was scarce, and revenue was leaking at every step. The club had limited ability to understand who was actually in the stadium, enforce its own rules, or make informed commercial decisions.

A strategic infrastructure project.

We rebuilt FC Porto’s entire ticketing ecosystem from the ground up, with transparency and auditability as core requirements. The goal was to give the club full commercial control, a direct and trusted relationship with its members, and the data infrastructure to make informed decisions at every level of the organisation.

The fan experience was the surface. The real work was underneath: restructuring processes, closing revenue gaps, and building a platform that could serve as the foundation for FC Porto’s broader digital transformation. The result is a platform deeply customised to FC Porto’s membership model and operational reality, while meeting the standards expected of the world’s leading clubs.

Personal area.

Área Pessoal is where fans manage everything in one place: upcoming matches, seat history, digital access cards, account balance, transaction history, and invoices. Season ticket holders can renew in just one click, or spread the cost across four instalments, making the season ticket accessible to families who might otherwise struggle with a single upfront payment. For the first time, they can also change or upgrade their seat entirely online, without visiting a club office.

Fans can also purchase tickets on behalf of family and friends directly from their account, within rules defined by FC Porto, keeping group purchases inside the club’s own ecosystem. Organised supporter groups and Casas FC Porto now manage their ticket allocations through the same platform, in a controlled environment run entirely by the club.

The platform tracks match attendance across home and away games, giving fans full visibility over their own record for the first time. The more games a fan attends, the higher their priority when away tickets go on sale. A system that rewards loyalty and ensures the most dedicated fans get first access.

Pick your seat like you're already there.

Buying a ticket used to mean guessing. “Row 12, Seat 43? Ugh, I suppose that’s fine.” A seat number tells you where you’ll sit without telling you what you’ll see, from how close you’ll be to the pitch to which goal you’ll be facing.

Now, fans can choose their seat in an interactive 3D model of Estádio do Dragão and Dragão Arena, seeing exactly where they’ll sit and what they’ll see before they buy.

One place for every ticket.

Tickets for matches at Dragão Arena, Olival and Pedroso used to be sold through external ticketing services, outside the club’s own channels. Now every match, in every sport the club plays, is on the same platform and under the same account. Fans have a single place to go, and FC Porto has a complete picture of who is attending, whichever venue they walk into.

Match day access.

The digital access card lives in your Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. We designed and implemented this coordination with FC Porto's integrated managing system. Add it once to your device and it updates automatically for every match. When you arrive at Estádio do Dragão, just tap and walk in.

And if plans change?

Secondary market.

Even when matches at the Estádio do Dragão sold out, some seats stayed empty, because season ticket holders who couldn’t make a game had a place no one else could use. FC Porto wanted to get more fans into those seats.

We looked at several models before settling on one that runs without anyone at the club having to process it. A season ticket holder releases their seat with a single action, the club puts it back on sale, and if it sells, the credit lands in the fan’s account automatically. Every transaction stays within FC Porto’s ecosystem, verified and tracked by the club, so a seat that would have gone empty now goes to another fan.

Responsive by design.

Launching during the season ticket renewal campaign meant thousands of fans using the platform from day one. We didn't wait for bug reports to filter through internal channels. We monitored Reddit, X, and FC Porto's forums directly, seeing issues as fans experienced them and shipping fixes in real time.

Fans noticed. When they raised a problem in the morning and saw it resolved by evening, they knew someone was actually listening. That responsiveness built trust faster than any marketing campaign could.

The results.

Season tickets for Estádio do Dragão and Dragão Arena reached 32,781 in 2025/26, a 10.8% year-on-year increase, and sold out for the first time in the club’s history. Demand outgrew the stadium, and for the first time FC Porto opened a waiting list for future season tickets.

Ticketing revenue grew by 33% year-on-year, reaching €18.1M across season tickets and match-day sales. 78% of all tickets were sold online, up from 47% the previous season.

“FC Porto trusted us with one of their most critical fan touchpoints. That trust came with responsibility, and we delivered on it.”

Rui Sereno

CEO of Significa

The platform launched with the secondary market, instalment payments, On Behalf Of group purchasing and away match ticketing already in place. Since then, it has taken on the season ticket waiting list and, from February 2026, Entra em Campo, which gives young members aged six to thirteen the chance to walk out onto the pitch with the first team. Both were built on the same foundation, without rebuilding it.

“Two minutes to buy a season ticket: that's the speed we delivered, and fans had never experienced anything like it.”

Pedro Brandão

Founder of Significa

For the first time, FC Porto gained full ownership of its ticketing ecosystem and a direct, data-driven connection to its fans. The platform anchors FC Porto’s wider digital transformation strategy, positioning the club as a reference for digital innovation in European football.

Seventeen of us worked on the platform, though all of Significa was following every release from the sidelines. Plenty of us are Portistas, so helping shape FC Porto’s digital transformation meant building something we’d use ourselves on match day, for fans who sit in the same stands we do. With more than 180,000 members testing every decision the moment it went live, the project asked more of us than most, and much of what we learned running a launch in public now shapes how we approach every product that follows.
